The scriptures, while teaching the Truth, informs us that the world lies ‘in’ Brahman. However, since this is not the whole truth, it proceeds to present Brahman as completely unconnected, untouched, untainted by the world. ‘Remaining in’ and ‘not being in’ Brahman is nothing but the total non-existence of the world, in all periods of time. Even when it is perceived, the world has no existence of its own. It is only Brahman that is being seen, experienced as the world of jivas and objects.
