Sri Jagadguru insisted that for a person professional duties were paramount over any other thing. Once an advocate refused to entertain a client as his case would have denied him the opportunity of listening to the discourses of Sri Jagadguru. But the client was insistent. Having come to know of the situation, Sri Jagadguru told the advocate that it was not proper for him to deny his services to the client who had immense faith in him and it was fair on the part of the advocate to forego the opportunity of pleasing a person for the mere pleasure of listening to the discourse on Vedanta. Sri Jagadguru said that the policy 'pain to oneself and pleasure to others' was far better than 'pleasure to oneself and pain to others'.
