Every act of kindness, no matter how modest, contributes to the greater good

Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji:

"When it comes to doing good deeds or charitable acts, many people compare themselves with others who are better off and are able to do much more. They feel unhappy and demotivated that they are not as well-to-do and capable as some others. But this is not the right way to view the situation. God has given the capability to everyone to some extent and in some form or the other. Therefore, one should utilize one's capability to do whatever one can. If we adopt this approach and initiate our efforts, God will ensure that good work gets done by us. He will also bless us with the strength and capability to accomplish even greater tasks in times to come. It is important to give with a pure conscience, regardless of how modest or humble one's offering may seem. Everyone should perform charitable acts in accordance with their capability, without comparing themselves with others; and this would lead to the well-being of all.
